Samsung’s first Windows Mobile 6.5 Smartphone (Windows Phone) is here.  This Messenger-class handset’s design will be familiar to those who’ve used previous Samsung smartphones like the Jack, Ace and Epix.
Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional comes onboard the Samsung Intrepid, and while it is certainly an improvement over 6.1 in terms of usability and aesthetics, it’s by [...]

ATI just announced its latest greatest polygon cruncher on the planet: the previously leaked Radeon HD 5970. The new card card is also one of the first to support Microsoft DirectX 11 and Eyefinity multi-display (driving up to three displays at once for a 7680×1600 maximum resolution) with ripe potential for overclocking thanks to the card’s Overdrive technology. Instead of relying upon a single GPU like the already scorching Radeon HD 5870, the 5970 brings a pair of Cypress GPUs linked on a single board by a PCI Express bridge for nearly 5 TeraFLOPS of computer power, or a mind boggling 10 TeraFLOPS when setup in CrossFireX. Naturally, the card’s already been put to the test by all the usual benchmarking nerds who praise the card as the undisputed performance leader regardless of game or application. It even manages to keep power consumption in check until you start rolling on the voltage to ramp those clock speeds. As you’d expect then, ATI isn’t going to offer any breaks on pricing so you can expect to pay the full $599 suggested retail price when these cards hit shelves today for retail or as part of your new gaming rig bundle.

Be aware if another vulnerability identified in Windows. They best way to keep your PC secure is to stay up to date with all patches and security updates. Visit Microsoft's Windows update page to check for updates.

Microsoft on Tuesday issued six security bulletins fixing 15 vulnerabilities, including a critical patch for holes in the Windows kernel and other Windows and Office components that could allow an attacker to take control of a computer.

“MS09-065, a bug in the Windows kernel, is this month's most serious issue,” said Andrew Storms, director of security operations at nCircle. “The vulnerability allows for remote code execution, and the attack code can be embedded inside MS Office files or be hosted on websites. Simply browsing an infected website will compromise unsuspecting users — not great for all the holiday shoppers looking to get a jump on their shopping. The novelty value of this bug is likely to attract many researchers. A lot of people will try to be the first to publicly post exploit code.”

If you have a kid that will do anything to get that extra little bit of in-game cash to buy items, then you might want to look at this and have a talk with them and go over what information they give out and how.

These offers, generally known in the business as lead-gen (lead generators), will give you some seed/tractor money in return for signing up for, say, a subscription to Netflix or a credit card. But less scrupulous advertisers lure players in with an offer to take a bogus survey or IQ test. Once it's completed they require a cell-phone number to send you the results. When you enter your cell number and create a password, you have unwittingly subscribed to a service you never wanted but will be billed for.

The ongoing fued between Intel and Nvidia has now moved to the USB 3.0 support arena where Nvidia is calling out Intel for deciding that “innovation is not needed for USB any time soon”.

Nvidia has claimed that its nForce chipsets are “better” than Intel's. A company spokesperson also criticized the chip manufacturer for allegedly postponing USB 3 introduction until 2011.

“Nvidia nForce chipsets have traditionally been full of innovative features, even better than Intel's own chipsets. [For example], Nvidia Ion has redefined the netbook category,” Nvidia spokesperson Brian Burke explained in an e-mailed statement to TG Daily.
